Fibre Art Retreat

August 2 - August 4

fibre art display

Rug up in your handcrafted woollies while you create works of art!

Join me and a host of other fibre artists for the annual Fibre Art Retreat weekend in beautiful Mapleton this August.

What will I be doing at the Retreat? In addition to the Indigo Niche stand, I’ll be hosting the following mini-events:

Traditional Sashiko & Boro short presentation

  • Friday August 2nd, 8 – 8.30PM

Boro Workshop

  • Saturday August 3rd, 2 – 4PM
  • Cost – $35, includes fabric materials to construct a 14″ sq. piece of boro. (Talk to me if you want to make something larger to keep working on after the Retreat.)
  • Beginners welcome!
  • Requirements – small scissors, needle & thread, straight pins, fabric glue. (All available at the Indigo Niche stall.)
  • Prerequisites – a sense of fun!

There will be plenty of space to set up and work on your own project. All fibre arts are welcome, so bring your needlework, yarn craft, paper crafts, basket-making, weaving, felting, anything you like.

Mapleton is located in the Blackall Range, which is gorgeous in winter time. The retreat is fully catered for, and accommodation options include air-conditioned cabins.

The Fibre Art Retreat is a wonderful place to meet new friends and learn new skills. There is plenty of space to spread out, so you can even bring a large project.
