Kamon Sashiko Template – Bellflower

A Sashiko Template to give you the confidence to draw a traditional bellflower kamon sashiko pattern with accuracy and ease.

This stencil will allow you to mark the perfect stitch length for a traditional kikyo—or bellflower—kamon onto fabric—simply mark your fabric with a bohin pencil or fine point chalk pencil in the spaces provided. You’ll never again need to guess the number of stitches required for the best outcome.

Bellflower Kamon Sashiko Template Sizing

• 4½” square (11.45cm²)

The template is thick enough to use as a ruler, allowing you to cut perfectly square sashiko blocks using a rotary cutter.  If you need to refresh the design, just place your stencil back over the fabric and re-do.

An easy way to add motifs to sashiko projects such as table runners, noren curtains, quilts, jackets and cushion covers.

About the design

Kamon, or mon, are heraldic family crests which have been used in Japanese society since at least the 7th century. Japanese flowers such as the kikyo are common motifs.
